2025 Asian Rowing Championships Concluded Successfully in Hai Phong

Hai Phong, Vietnam, 19 October 2025 — The 2025 Asian Rowing Championships came to a successful close after four days of intense racing from 16 to 19 October on GIA Dam River in Hai Phong. The regatta brought together over 300 participants and 142 boats from 18 countries and regions, competing across 20 events in both men’s and women’s categories.

Vietnam, the host nation, delivered an outstanding performance, topping the medal table with six gold medals, followed by Uzbekistan with four golds and India with three. The championship showcased remarkable athleticism, sportsmanship, and regional unity, further strengthening the growth of rowing in Asia.

The competition featured two groups of events, with Group A finals held on 18 October and Group B finals on 19 October. Highlights included Vietnam’s victories in the Women’s Four (W4-), Lightweight Women’s Four (LW4x), and Women’s Eight (W8+), and Uzbekistan’s dominance in men’s sweep and sculling disciplines.

Asian Rowing Federation President Mr. Chen Chunxin and Secretary General Mr. Liu Dehai congratulated all athletes and officials for their dedication and teamwork, and expressed gratitude to the Vietnam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation and the Hai Phong City Government for hosting such memorable championships. During the medal ceremonies, the President of World Rowing, Jean-Christophe Rolland, along with senior local officials, also joined in presenting awards and extending congratulations to the athletes, further highlighting the significance of the event and the spirit of unity within the rowing community.
